I attempted to do a clean install with XP, but every time I would try it would give me error messages (when I booted from the XP disc) with such problems as "file *.* could not be found" telling me the setup failed (similar messages). So I was forced to install ME on the system again.

One obvious way to partition the full drive is using a booted XP CD, even tho you plan to install ME on that drive. In other words you dont need to use ME or anything associated with it to partition the drive. What are the limits of a DOS / FAT32 format? That isnt the problem. KWA em...@email.com alt windows-me Also, I highly recommend you do a CLEAN install. I am not sure from your post if that is what you intend to do or just do an upgrade to ME. If you are going to install ME I say you should NOT install 98 and upgrade to ME. Just install ME on a freshly formatted drive.
